Turbulence feels terrifying and is usually just air doing air things. Not every shaking means falling.

Air sits in layers, and a plane crossing between them bumps the way a car crosses a cattle grid. Your body reads the shaking as danger because shaking is what danger used to feel like, long before anyone flew. The fear is real and the emergency usually is not. Most of what rattles you in a given week is this same thing: motion getting misread as collapse.
Next time something shakes you, name what is actually happening before you name what it means. A rough test, a short argument, a bad practice at the wrong time. Say the plain version out loud and see whether falling is really in it.
Which rough patch did you mistake for everything collapsing?
