Simplicity allows attention to reach what matters.

REFLECTION
Attention is a limited quantity spent on whatever is in front of you, including the clutter, the extra options, and the low-grade friction. Every unnecessary thing takes a small share of it, and what remains for the important work is whatever the noise did not consume. Simplifying is largely a way of redirecting that budget. It is not aesthetic; it is arithmetic.
Look at what routinely takes your attention without deserving it. Remove one such thing this week, a notification, an obligation, an object in the room. Then notice where the freed attention goes.
What would you finally notice if your days held less clutter?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
