Making things looks like a gift handed down from somewhere, and it is mostly attention plus a record. Whoever writes the good line noticed the specific way somebody said goodbye, or how a room smelled, and then wrote it down instead of letting it dissolve by lunchtime. Everybody has the noticing. Very few people keep the notes.

Start one place for the things you notice, on your phone or in a cheap notebook. Three entries a day, badly written, no filter. In a month you will have material nobody else has.
