Whatever you did for hours as a kid without being asked is a clue. Not a destiny. A clue.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
The things you did at nine for no reward are worth noticing, because nobody made you do them. Whatever held your attention that long points at something real about how your mind likes to work. It is not a prophecy about your career, and treating it as one puts a lot of weight on a kid with a notebook.
Write down three things you used to lose hours in. Look for the shape underneath rather than the activity: building, arranging, explaining, competing, making people laugh. That shape is still available to you in work you have not heard of yet.
What absorbed you as a child without anyone suggesting it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
