Needing a quiet night after a loud week isn’t antisocial. It’s knowing your own settings.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Some people refill in company and some refill alone, and both are settings rather than virtues. If a full week of noise leaves you flat, a night in is maintenance, not a retreat from life. Forcing yourself out in that state usually produces a worse version of you anyway: present in body, absent in every other sense.
Plan the quiet night rather than cancelling into it at the last minute. Tell people you are sitting this one out and name a day you are in. Protecting the recharge is what lets you actually turn up the rest of the time.
What do you need after a week full of people?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
