The first time you say “I need help” at work, nothing collapses. Usually somebody’s relieved you asked.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
The fear beforehand is enormous and the reality is almost always flat. You ask, somebody shows you, the shift carries on. From the other side it often arrives as a relief, because experienced people can usually tell when someone is struggling and are waiting for permission to step in without embarrassing you.
Ask once this week, early, before the thing becomes a problem somebody else has to fix. Be specific: name the task and the part you cannot do. Then watch what actually happens, and use that as your evidence next time.
What would you ask for help with at work?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
