Being weird is just being specific about what you like. Specific people find their people.

What gets called weird is usually precision. Having a real favourite rather than a safe one, caring about something at an inconvenient level, knowing exactly which part of a song you love: all of that narrows the room, which is the point. Vagueness is more popular and much lonelier, because nobody can recognize you in it.
Say the specific thing out loud this week instead of the acceptable version. Name the actual band, the actual book, the game, the obsession. The people who light up are the ones you were looking for, and being agreeable will never find them.
