You can be a role model and still be a mess some days. Kids learn from watching you recover too.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Younger siblings and the kids you coach are not studying your highlight reel. They are watching what you do after you snap, lose or embarrass yourself. A version of you who never struggles teaches them nothing they can use, because they will struggle and will have no idea what to do with it. Recovery is the part that transfers.
The next time you handle something badly in front of a younger kid, say so plainly and let them see what you do next. Apologise where you owe one. Showing the repair is worth more than keeping the polish intact.
What mess of yours would be useful for someone younger to see?
