Scales get recalibrated because even honest tools drift. So does your sense of what’s normal.

Your idea of ordinary is not fixed. It slowly matches whatever you are around, so six months among people who shout makes shouting unremarkable, and six months among people who read quietly changes your sense of a normal evening again. Nothing in you is broken when that happens. Honest instruments drift, which is exactly why they get checked against something outside themselves.
Find your outside reference this week: an older relative, a friend from a different group, somebody whose judgement you borrow on purpose. Describe your normal week to them and listen for the surprise in what they say back.
