What remains useful usually has someone quietly keeping it that way.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Anything still working after years, an institution, a garden, a piece of equipment, a tradition, has someone behind it. The upkeep is rarely visible and almost never credited, and it is the entire reason the thing has not fallen apart. When that person stops or leaves, the decline usually starts immediately and surprises everyone.

Look at what you rely on and try to identify who maintains it. Thank them, or take a share if it has fallen to one person. And notice what in your own life has quietly lost its keeper.
