People check themselves in elevator mirrors like it’s the last chance before the world sees them. It never is.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Nobody gets a last check before the world sees them, because there is no single moment of being seen. People fix their hair in a lift mirror as though the doors will open onto judgment, and then the day keeps going and there are a hundred more rooms. Treating any one entrance as decisive makes you tense for no return. The world is not watching that closely.

Spend less of this week preparing to be looked at. Leave the house slightly unchecked once, on purpose, and notice that the day proceeds exactly as it would have.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What would change if you checked the mirror less often?
