Ten minutes doing nothing isn’t wasted. It gives your brain room to sort through everything you threw at it today.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
There is a filing job that happens only when you stop adding to the pile. Everything from the day, the argument at lunch, the thing the coach said, the chapter you read, needs somewhere quiet to settle into place. Fill every gap with more input and it stays in a heap.
Try ten minutes at the end of today with no screen, no music, no plan. Sitting on the back step counts. It will feel pointless for the first few minutes and then stop feeling pointless. Notice what your head brings up on its own, because that is usually the thing that mattered.
When in your day does your mind get time to sort things?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
