Teaching your little sister to ride a bike means running behind her about fifty times. Leadership is mostly repetition.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Helping someone learn is less about the explanation than about being willing to do the same unglamorous lap again. The fiftieth attempt looks exactly like the first from outside, and the only change is that you kept being there. Most of what gets called leadership is that: steady presence through the boring middle.
Think of one person you could help with something you already know how to do. A younger sibling, a new teammate, a kid in your class. Plan for several goes rather than one lesson, and keep your voice the same on the fourth try as on the first. They will remember who stayed, not who explained well.
Who are you teaching something that needs fifty more tries?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
