There’s no perfect time to tell someone how you feel. There are just less awkward ones, and you can usually find one.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Waiting for perfect conditions is a way of never doing it, because saying something vulnerable is never going to be comfortable. What exists instead is a range, from the worst moment to a decent one, and the decent ones are findable if you look. Private, unhurried, not right before something important.
Rather than waiting for the right feeling, choose the right setting. Walking somewhere, driving, after a thing you both did, anywhere the conversation can end naturally if it needs to. Keep what you say short and true, and let them have their reaction. Awkward for ten minutes is survivable; wondering for months is worse.
