You don’t get better at parallel parking by avoiding it. The block you circle twice is the lesson you skipped.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Avoidance keeps the discomfort away and keeps the skill away with it. Every time you drive around for a bigger space, you are paying with time in order not to learn the thing, and the bill arrives later as a permanent small anxiety. Difficulty does not go away when you route around it.
Practise the thing you avoid, on purpose, when it does not matter. An empty street on a Sunday, two bins for cones, twenty minutes. Then take the tight space next time even if somebody is watching. The embarrassment is short and the skill is permanent.
What do you drive around rather than practice?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
