Waiting is a skill. Some people practice it by scrolling, some by walking. Find a version that doesn’t wreck your week.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

How you wait is a habit you have already built, probably without choosing it. Most people default to whatever is nearest, which is usually a phone, and an hour of that leaves you more agitated than before while the wait got no shorter. Other defaults exist and they cost exactly the same amount of time.

Notice what you reach for the next time you are stuck waiting, then pick one replacement and make it the automatic one: walk, stretch, read, tidy something. Keep it close at hand so the choice is easy. Judge it by how your week feels afterwards rather than by how fast the wait went.
