Some great shows need three episodes before they click. Lots of people and projects deserve that same patience.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Some things only make sense once you are far enough in. A show that drags for two episodes can become the best one you have seen, because the setup had to happen before anything could land. People and projects are built the same way, and a first impression is often just the setup. Quitting at the first flat stretch means you mostly see beginnings.

Pick one thing you wrote off early and give it a fair third try: a person you decided was boring, a book you abandoned, a sport you were bad at for a week. Decide in advance how much you will give it, and give it that.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What did you quit after two tries instead of three?
