Sometimes it’s not a bad memory. You were never really there to make one.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Memory needs something to work with, and attention is what hands it the material. A stretch of your life can come back blank not because you lost it but because you were half elsewhere while it was happening, planning the next thing or scrolling through something unrelated. That is not a fault in your head.
One thing this week you would probably like to remember in ten years. A game, a drive somewhere with friends, a last day of something. Give that one your attention while it is happening, even just for ten minutes, and you will have something to keep.
Which event do you barely remember because you were elsewhere mentally?
