The frame changes how the same image is understood.

Put the photograph in a museum and it becomes art. Put it in a news article and it becomes evidence. Same image, entirely different reading, and the frame did all of it. We are far more susceptible to presentation than we like to think.

When you encounter something that provokes a strong reaction, spend a second on the frame it arrived in. Who chose that setting, that caption, that placement. It does not make the thing false, and it does explain a good part of your reaction.
