You notice every pimple. Everyone else notices whether you were kind to them.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
You and everybody else are keeping different accounts. Yours is about appearance, in enormous detail, hour by hour; theirs is about how they felt in your company, which is the only part anybody remembers a month later. Nobody has ever decided about a person on the basis of their skin.
This is worth taking as a reallocation rather than as reassurance. The ten minutes you were going to spend in front of the mirror could go on asking somebody how their week actually went. One of those is forgotten by lunchtime and the other is the thing people mean when they say they like you.
Were you kind today, or just worried about your appearance?
