Pay attention to the excuse you reach for most. Fear usually hides behind that one.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Fear rarely turns up and introduces itself. It arrives dressed as a practical reason, and that reason is usually sensible, which makes it so effective. Not enough time, not the right moment, not really my thing. The giveaway is that the same reason appears every time, regardless of how different the situations are.
Test yours this week by removing the excuse. If it is time, find the smallest version that fits into ten minutes; if it is readiness, do it badly on purpose. If the reluctance survives after the obstacle is gone, you have found the real thing, and it is usually about looking stupid in front of somebody.
What does your most-used excuse actually keep you from?
