Save the odd little thoughts you have on solo walks in a notes app. Read them in a year and meet an earlier you.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Thoughts that arrive while you are walking rarely survive the trip home. They are not always good, but they are yours, unprompted and unedited. Read a year later they do something memory cannot: they show what you cared about before you knew how any of it turned out.

Start one note and keep adding to it rather than making new ones. No tidying and no judging, just the line as it came. Set a reminder for a year from now to read the whole thing. Meeting the earlier you is strange in a good way, and it proves movement you cannot otherwise see.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which stray thought from a walk would you want back in a year?
