Sitting under the porch light watching moths circle it, you realize you can just exist for a minute without a plan.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Nearly all of your attention goes to the next thing: the assignment, the shift, the message you owe somebody. A few minutes with no task in them feels almost illegal at first. You do not have to justify sitting still, and the moths are not being useful either.
Look for five minutes of that this week, on a step, a curb, a back porch. Do not bring the phone out to document it, because the point is that nobody needs to know. It resets more than it should for something so small.
Can you sit still for a minute without needing a purpose?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
