Some questions about yourself don’t need answers tonight. You can let them sit and come back when you’ve lived more.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Plenty of pressure exists to have yourself settled by seventeen, as if a late answer counts for less. Some questions need more input than you have yet, and forcing them gives you a confident answer that turns out wrong. Leaving one open is not avoidance when you fully intend to keep living into it.
Write the question on a page and put it somewhere you will find it again. Then stop asking it twice a night, since nothing new arrives between midnight and one. Come back in six months and notice how differently it reads.
Which question about yourself could wait a few years?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
