A lot of your worst texts get sent when you’re hungry, tired or up too late. Learn your own warning lights.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Judgment is physical before it is moral. Low sleep, no food and one in the morning will produce a version of you that is certain, sharp and wrong, with access to your phone. It is not a character flaw, it is a fuel gauge, and reading the gauge is the whole skill.
Make one simple rule: when it is late or you are starving, you may write the message but not send it. Put it in your notes instead. Almost every time, the morning version edits it down to two lines or deletes it entirely.
