Online audiences can make private uncertainty feel publicly unacceptable.

In public, uncertainty reads as weakness, so everybody performs conviction and everybody watching concludes they are the only one unsure. It is a loop that manufactures false confidence at scale and makes the honest position feel embarrassing.

Say I do not know out loud, in a room where it costs you something. It is a small act and it visibly relieves other people, because it turns out most of them were holding the same uncertainty and assuming they were alone in it.
