Stuck on a hard decision? Pick the one you’d be prouder to explain a year from now.

LEADERSHIP
In the moment, a decision is dominated by what is awkward right now: who will be annoyed, what you will have to say, how it will feel this week. A year out, almost none of that survives, and what remains is whether the choice was one you can describe plainly. The future version of you is a better judge because the pressure has worn off.
Try telling both versions as a story to someone a year from now. One of them is usually noticeably easier to say. That difference is real information, and it tends to be clearer than any list of pros and cons.
Which choice would you rather explain to yourself next year?
