Whoever taught you to drive stick gave you something you’ll still use when they’re gone. Teach somebody something.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Skills get handed along and keep working long after the person who taught you is not around to ask. That is a quiet kind of continuation: their patience, their way of explaining it, still in your hands every time you do the thing. It also means teaching somebody is less a favour than a way of keeping something going.

If there is something you can do that a friend or a younger sibling cannot, show them this month. Be as patient as whoever taught you was. Half an hour is usually all it takes to pass something on.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What skill could you teach someone else this month?
