Your dog’s life is a lot shorter than yours. Take the extra walk.

Your years and your dog’s years are not the same size. A season you would barely notice is a real fraction of an entire life at the other end of the leash, which makes putting things off more expensive than it looks. There is no banked version of a walk you skipped.

Go out again today even if you have already been once. Let the sniffing take as long as it takes instead of hurrying the route along. The cost is twenty minutes of an evening, set against something that does not come back around.
