You don’t need to be old to have a legacy. Every room you leave better counts.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Influence is not something you qualify for at a particular age. A sixteen year old changes the weather in a classroom, a locker room or a shift by deciding what counts as normal in it: whether the quiet kid gets included, whether a joke is allowed to keep going. Nobody announces who sets the tone, and everybody can feel who does.
Take one room you are in regularly and decide what you want it to be like. Then do the single thing that would move it: sit with somebody new, retire one running joke, ask what nobody asks. Rooms change faster than people expect.
Where have you improved something without being in charge?
