STILLNESS
STILLNESS
The bill for a lost weekend, an unnecessary quarrel, or a bad night’s sleep looks entirely different at forty than at twenty. Money used to be the scarce thing and now time and recovery are, and your sense of what constitutes an expensive mistake reorganizes accordingly.
Check whether your habits still reflect an outdated price list. Things you do because they were once cheap for you may not be anymore. Adjusting for the current cost of things is more useful than trying to be more disciplined in general.
What costs you more now than it did at twenty?
