Somebody has to go first with being honest. When it’s you, you find out fast who’s safe.

Honesty tends to stall because everyone is waiting for someone else to make the first move. Going first costs you the safety of being unreadable, and it gives you something you cannot get any other way, which is to see what people do with a true thing. Some will meet you, and some will change the subject or hand it around later. Both answers are useful.

Try one small true thing this week with one person. Not the biggest thing you carry. Something modest enough that a bad reaction is survivable, and real enough that a good one tells you something.
