Trust the people who say “I don’t know” sometimes. Know-it-alls are just guessing louder.

Admitting a gap is costly in the moment, which is exactly why it is reliable. Somebody willing to say they do not know is giving you an honest map, including the blank parts, and that means you can act on the rest of what they tell you. The person with an answer for everything is not better informed. They have just decided that confidence is safer than accuracy.
Say it yourself this week when it is true, out loud, in front of people. In class, at work, in an argument you are losing. You will find it costs almost nothing and it makes your other answers worth more.
Who admits uncertainty to you instead of inventing an answer?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
