Be the same person at school, at work and at home. People trust what doesn’t change with the audience.

Consistency is easier to verify than virtue. Nobody can see inside you, so people judge you by whether the reports line up: the version your teachers describe, the version your coworkers describe, the version your family lives with. When those three match you become predictable in the best sense, and when they do not, people assume the worst version is the real one.
Pick the setting where you behave worst and raise it, rather than polishing the one where you already look good. Say the same thing about a person in both rooms. If a story about you would embarrass you somewhere else, that is the thing to change.
Where are you a noticeably different person than at home?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
