Some friendships fade without a fight. Schedules change, routes change. Nobody has to be the villain.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Most endings are logistical rather than moral. One of you changed schools, or got a job on weekends, or joined a team that eats every Saturday, and the overlap that made the friendship possible stopped existing. Looking for a betrayal in that is a way of making it make sense, and it usually invents a wrong where there was none. People can mean well and still drift apart.

Let it be what it was without a verdict. If you miss somebody, say so and see what happens, with no accounting of who stopped texting first. And if someone drifts from you, resist writing them a villain’s part in the story.
