Holding on is the instinct and it is also what loses the race. The baton only moves if you release it at the moment you can no longer control what happens to it, which feels wrong every time and is the whole mechanism. Most trust works like that. At some point you stop managing the outcome and hand it to somebody who may drop it.
Find the thing you are gripping because you do not quite believe anybody else will do it right. Give that job away this week and do not hover. Say what the standard is, then let them have it, including the version where it goes badly.
What are you still holding that somebody else should carry now?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
