Quality requires understanding which tolerances matter.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Everything has slack in it, and skill is largely knowing where the slack is harmless and where it is not. A cabinet door can be a millimetre out and nobody notices, while the hinge placement cannot. Treating every dimension as critical is exhausting and, oddly, produces worse results, because attention gets spread evenly instead of concentrated where it decides the outcome.

With your current project, name the two or three things that genuinely have to be right. Give those your real attention, and consciously allow the rest to be approximate. Deciding what is allowed to be imperfect is part of the craft, not a retreat from it.
