Being specific forces thinking to become accountable.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
General statements cannot be wrong, which is exactly their appeal. Once you commit to a number, a date, or a named mechanism, your thinking becomes checkable, by others and by you. That is uncomfortable, and the discomfort is the point, because it is the first moment your idea can actually be tested rather than admired.
Take something you believe in loosely and put a specific claim on it. What exactly will happen, by when, and how would you know. If you cannot do that, the belief may be thinner than it feels. Writing it down makes it possible to learn from.
Which plan of yours stays vague because specifics would expose it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
