Strength includes knowing which problems deserve expertise you do not possess.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Part of being capable is recognising the boundary of what you should be handling. Some problems reward general intelligence and effort, and some require years of specific knowledge that you do not have and will not acquire in time. Knowing which is which prevents you from burning weeks producing an amateur version of something a specialist would do properly.

Look at what you are currently wrestling with and ask honestly whether the difficulty is unfamiliarity or genuine specialisation. If it is the second, find the person who does this. Bringing in expertise is a decision you make, not a verdict on you.
