Saying “I need help” out loud is a kind of honesty most people skip.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Asking requires admitting two things at once: that you are stuck, and that someone can see you stuck. Most people skip it and call that independence, when it is usually the wish to be seen as fine. The honesty is in dropping the pose, not in the size of the problem. Nobody can help with a difficulty you keep presenting as handled.

Name one thing you have been quietly failing at and tell one person this week. A teacher, a parent, a manager, whoever is closest to it. Say what you need in plain words, and let the silence afterward be a little awkward.
