Self-awareness is mostly noticing your own patterns before your friends have to point them out.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Your friends already know your patterns, having watched the same thing happen four times. The question is only whether you get there first. Hearing it from them is survivable, but it means somebody had to spend the awkwardness on you, and most people only do that once or twice. Doing your own noticing is cheaper for everybody.
Pick something that has happened more than twice this year, the same kind of argument or the same week of avoiding work. Write what the pattern is in one sentence, in plain language. You do not have to fix it yet, since naming it is what moves you from being told to knowing.
Which pattern of yours did a friend spot before you did?
