If a win requires concealment, the concealment becomes part of what you own from then on, and it does not get cheaper over time. Beyond the ethics, there is a practical cost, since a life with something hidden in it is heavier to carry and constrains everything downstream.

Apply a simple test to what you are doing: would you be comfortable if the method were described plainly to someone whose opinion you value. If not, change the method rather than the audience.
