A packed refrigerator does not guarantee the person standing before it feels able to feed themselves.

RESILIENCE
A full fridge does not solve the problem of not being able to feed yourself. When you are depleted, grieving, or unwell, the obstacle is not supply but the sequence of small decisions and actions between raw food and a meal. Standing in front of plenty and eating nothing is a very common and much misunderstood experience.
If you know that state, prepare for it rather than reasoning with it. Keep things that require no decisions: something that can be eaten standing up, something a person could hand you. And if someone you care about is in a hard stretch, bringing food that is already made is far more useful than buying them ingredients.
When has an easy task felt beyond you for reasons you could not explain?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
