A team can win while one member spends the whole event learning they are replaceable.

LEADERSHIP
A team can succeed while one person discovers, over the course of it, that they were not needed. The result is celebrated collectively and the experience inside it was not collective at all, and that private discovery is a real loss hidden inside a public gain. Winning does not distribute evenly.
If you lead anything, watch for the member whose contribution is quietly not required, since they will usually not raise it. And if you have had that experience yourself, being replaceable in one arrangement is a fact about the arrangement rather than about your worth. It is still worth taking seriously as information about where you should be.
Who on your team may feel unnecessary while things go well?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
