Keep making space for the friend whose life no longer follows the group’s schedule.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Friendships often run on a shared rhythm, and when one person’s rhythm changes the group does not always adjust. A new baby, a night shift, an illness, a caring role, and suddenly they cannot do Friday, which is when everything happens. Nobody excludes them on purpose; the invitations simply stop matching their life and then stop arriving. From the inside it feels like being quietly retired from the friendship.
Ask that friend what time of week actually works and use it, even if it is a Tuesday morning. Keep inviting them to the things they will miss anyway. Being remembered matters more than being available.
