The person describing a barrier has already done part of the work of improving the place.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Telling you what does not work costs the person something. They have to notice it, find the words, decide it is worth mentioning, and then risk being treated as difficult, and most people conclude it is not worth the trouble. So the complaint that reaches you is a small fraction of what exists, offered by someone who has effectively done free survey work.

When someone names a barrier, thank them and write it down where it will be seen. Ask what a good version would look like, since they have usually thought about it. Then tell them what happened, even if the answer is not yet.
