The caregiver deserves news and conversation that are not always another request.

GRATITUDE
When someone becomes the person who handles things, conversation narrows to logistics without anyone choosing it. Every call turns into a status update or another request, and the world starts treating them as a function rather than a person with a week of their own. That narrowing is lonely in a way that is hard to name, since everybody involved is being helpful. Ordinary talk becomes the rarest thing they get.
Call with news that has nothing to do with the situation. Tell them something small, ask their opinion about something unrelated, and let the call finish without a task in it.
When did you last call a caregiver without needing anything?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
