The person doing the work needs to know which parts are open to their judgment.

LEADERSHIP
Without a boundary, people either ask about everything or decide about everything, and both go badly. The first fills your day with small approvals and slows the work to your pace. The second produces choices you would not have made in places you cared about, and the correction afterwards feels arbitrary to them. Neither is a failure of the person; it is a missing map.
When you hand something over, say plainly which parts are theirs, which are yours, and which need a conversation. Three categories is enough. Then honour the first category even when you would have done it differently.
Where does your team not know how much freedom they have?
