The plan that ends may have given you skills the next plan will use.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Endings get scored on the outcome, which hides most of what happened. Whatever the plan did or did not achieve, you learned to do things you could not do before: run a conversation you used to dread, read a contract, manage a timeline, recover from a bad week. They stay in your hands and go quietly into whatever you start next.

Write a list of what you can now do that you could not two years ago, in plain terms. Keep it factual rather than consoling. When something new begins, look at that list first, since it will tell you where to start rather than where you failed.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What did an abandoned plan quietly train you to do?
