One good result attracts plans immediately. The cake becomes a business, the essay becomes a book, the good quarter becomes next year’s target, and something that was pleasant and light acquires weight it never asked for. Often what made it work was that nothing depended on it, and the moment it has to perform, the ease goes out of it.

Let a small win stay small for a while and see what it becomes on its own. Notice who is doing the escalating, since it is sometimes you and sometimes everyone else. If you do want more from it, choose that later, not in the excitement of the first week.
